Calders' take on the classic. The potatoes are boiled and then flash-fried for a soft center and crispy shell. The sauce is a dark, smoky red with a serious kick, balanced by a dollop of white alioli on top.

The red sauce is actually spicy, unlike many tourist spots. If you like heat, these are for you.

High-quality 'conservas' in a spicy escabeche. The bar staff will recommend a specific dry or sweet vermouth to match the acidity of the mussels, elevating the simple tin into a gourmet experience.

Ask for the dry white vermouth with the mussels. The acidity of the wine cuts through the oily escabeche perfectly.
A thick slab of provolone cheese is baked until bubbling and topped with a fresh, house-made chimichurri sauce. It's served with toasted bread and is a favorite for sharing among friends.
Tips from diners
Eat it as soon as it comes out before the cheese hardens. The chimichurri adds a nice vinegar note.
Bar Calders was the first to realize the potential of the Sant Antoni neighborhood as a foodie destination. Named after the Catalan writer Pere Calders, the bar is famous for its massive, sun-drenched terrace and its eclectic menu that blends traditional vermouth culture with international influences like Mexican guacamole and Middle Eastern hummus.
The terrace is one of the best in the city but they don't take reservations. On sunny weekends, arrive at 11:45am to secure a spot when they open.
This is a very dog-friendly bar. If you're traveling with your pup, the terrace is a perfect spot to relax together.
