We take the classic 'Trinxat' (crushed cabbage and potatoes with local garlic) and serve it inside a warm, crispy artisan baguette. Topped with a generous portion of high-quality local bacon (cansalada) that has been grilled until perfectly crispy. It's heart-warming, technical, and deeply authentic.
Tips from diners
An absolute mandatory order. You won't believe how well Trinxat works in a sandwich! The texture of the cabbage and the crispy bacon is a perfect match.
Premium local pork jowl (papada) is slow-cooked for 12 hours until melt-in-the-mouth tender. Served in a buttery, soft brioche bun with a hit of our house-made green 'mojo' (cilantro and garlic sauce) and pickled red onion. It's rich, savory, and remarkably flavorful.
Tips from diners
The pork just disappears in your mouth. The green mojo adds a great acidity that cuts through the fat. One of the best gourmet sandwiches in Sant Antoni.
We source fresh baby squid from the market and grill them briefly with a touch of citrus. Served in a toasted mini-baguette (bocatín) with our signature black garlic alioli and fresh parsley. It's a high-impact, refined seafood snack.
Tips from diners
A very elegant version of a classic. The black garlic alioli is the secret — it has a great balsamic-like depth. Perfect for a quick lunch.
A classic 'esmorzar de forquilla' in sandwich form. High-quality local pork sausage (botifarra) is grilled and served with sautéed white beans from Santa Pau and a touch of roasted garlic oil. It's rustic, protein-packed, and satisfying.
Tips from diners
The simplest and best breakfast sandwich. The flavor of the sausage is very authentic. Great with a small glass of Catalan red wine.
We use a traditional 'coca' dough topped with flame-roasted peppers, onions, and eggplant (escalivada). Finished with a generous amount of local fresh goat cheese and a drizzle of aromatic botanical oil. A beautiful, high-quality vegetarian meal.
Tips from diners
The roasted vegetables have a great smoky depth. The goat cheese is remarkably fresh. One of the best veggie choices in the neighborhood.
Bar Bocata is dedicated to the art of the Catalan 'Entrepà' (sandwich). Located in the food-centric Sant Antoni, it focus on using artisan breads and premium local ingredients to elevate common sandwiches into gourmet meals. With its relaxed, modern-tavern vibe and a menu that changes with the market, it has become a favorite for locals seeking a quick, high-impact lunch or a casual evening snack.
The place is small and often loud with locals. It's a great spot to see the 'real' Sant Antoni crowd. The terrace on Carrer del Parlament is one of the coolest spots for people-watching.
They do very good value breakfast specials (bikini + coffee). Check their board at the entrance. The staff are very friendly and usually speak multiple languages. Most of the bread is from the famous artisan baker next door.
