Our most iconic dish. We marinate pork shoulder for 24 hours in a mixture of achiote, dried chilies, and orange juice. It's slow-roasted on a vertical 'trompo' and sliced thin onto fresh corn tortillas. Topped with a slice of grilled pineapple for that perfect sweet-savory balance.
Tips from diners
An absolute mandatory order. The pork is very tender and the pineapple is the key. Order three or four for a full meal.
A mountain of house-fried corn chips topped with a generous portion of our home-made black beans, melted cheese, fresh guacamole, pico de gallo, and pickled jalapeños. It's designed specifically for sharing among a group of four.
Tips from diners
It's huge! Don't order these if there are only two of you — you'll have no room for tacos. The guacamole is remarkably fresh for a budget spot.
A favorite for the weekend crowd. We use real lime juice and premium blanco tequila, blended with ice to a perfect smooth consistency. They are served in large glasses with a traditional salt rim. High-impact and very refreshing.
Tips from diners
They are much stronger than they look! Perfectly cold for a hot Raval afternoon. Great to share a pitcher on the terrace.
A surprisingly authentic Mexican vegetarian specialty. Dried hibiscus flowers are rehydrated and sautéed with onions and a touch of smoky chipotle. It has a remarkably 'meat-like' texture and a great tartness. Served with fresh avocado.
Tips from diners
The best vegetarian taco in Raval. The hibiscus is tangy and savory. Even meat-eaters should try one.
Beef brisket is slow-simmered for 8 hours with dried chilies and spices. The meat is shredded and served in corn tortillas that have been dipped in the stew fat and grilled. Served with a cup of the hot 'consomé' for dipping.
Tips from diners
The consomé is incredibly rich. Dip the taco for 2 seconds for the best flavor. It's a messy but amazing experience.
Los Amigos is a slice of Mexico in the heart of Raval. It's a place that doesn't focus on high-end decor, but on the soul of Mexican street food. With its colourful interior and bustling energy, it has become a local favorite for those seeking accurate flavors, generous portions, and a decidedly unpretentious dining experience near the MACBA museum.
It gets very loud and energetic on weekend nights. If you want a more quiet dinner, try a mid-week lunch. The terrace is great for people-watching near the Ramblas.
They often have 'Taco Tuesday' or 'Margarita Monday' specials. Check their board at the entrance. The staff are very friendly and mostly Mexican.
