Witty's opened at Wittenbergplatz in 1984, but pivoted to organic ("Bio") in 2003, becoming Germany's first organic snack bar specializing in currywurst. All sausages, sauces, and fries are made to the house recipe with organic meat from Bioland-certified farms. The meat contains 30% less fat than standard currywurst sausages. The restaurant has maintained Bioland certification for over a decade, requiring annual inspections by independent organic auditors.
